Tidal: Arts x Tech Challenge with ArtsWave — Artswave’s hugely popular ‘Tidal’ event entered its second year this year. From the event starting off with a fireside chat with VIBE magazine Editor-in-Chief Datwon Thomas to a pair of winners on Sunday night, StartupCincy was off and buzzing to start off the past seven days.

#SmartCincy Smart City Summit — A massive convergence of city and tech leaders took place in Union Hall on Tuesday. The day was packed full of keynotes, seminars and insightful discussions. It also included kick-off statements from the City of Cincinnati’s leaders: Mayor John Cranley, City Manager Harry Black, Councilwoman Amy Murray, Councilman P.G. Sittenfeld and Councilwoman Yvette Simpson.

Doc Halo secures Series A led by Bain Capital — The first of two major funding milestones this week came with the announcement of Cincinnati startup Doc Halo closing an $11 million funding round led by Bain Capital Ventures and Cincinnati’s Refinery Ventures.

Cladwell announces $1 million funding round — The same day as Doc Halo announced their funding round, Cincinnati startup Cladwell took it’s own big step forward with a $1 million funding to help the startup grow its size even more.

OCEAN graduates Class III at 2017 Demo Day — OCEAN Accelerator knows how to pack a room full and they did it again this year — at a new location. Seven cohort members took the stage at the Crossroads Uptown church in Clifton and wowed the sold-out crowd of 800+ attendees with thousands more watching live online.
