The winner of March’s Spry Labs Data Jam with Humana made a splash in funding news on Wednesday.
HealthVerity, a Philadelphia-based health data startup, announced a $10 million Series B funding round just over a month after being crowned the champion of the March 17 event in Cincinnati.
In March, Cintrifuse’s Spry Labs held its second Data Jam for Humana in Cincinnati in less than six months. The event garnered the attention of startups and solutions from around the country – including startups from Pennsylvania , California and locally. HealthVerity, a startup that was already backed by Flare Capital and Greycroft Ventures, found a way to the Data Jam tables as much of its platform was able to adapt to the prompt set forth by Humana.
HealthVerity’s ‘Marketplace’ has linkable HIPAA-compliant, de-identified healthcare data on more than 300 million individuals in the U.S. from more than 30 national healthcare data suppliers. The technology excited the Humana and led to HealthVerity’s victory at the Data Jam.
